GHC, in collaboration with Bartow County Schools, is hosting a free STEM camp for rising ninth grade students in the local school system beginning on June 22 and lasting until June 26.

The camp will be held at GHC Cartersville campus and the Bartow County College and Career Academy. There will be students from Adairsville, Cartersville, South Central, Woodland, and Excel middle schools.

Students will learn about robotics, infectious diseases, environmental issues, as well as participate in activities that highlight the many STEM careers available in our community.

The students will spend the first two days at Bartow County College and Career Academy and the last three days on the GHC Cartersville campus.

The students will go on at least one field trip each day. The companies they are visiting include Anheuser Busch, Gerdau, Voelstalpine, Georgia Power, Innovative Chemical Technologies, Inc., Cartersville Medical Center, Phoenix Air, New Riverside Ochre, and Tellus Science Museum.

The camp runs from about 8 am-4 pm each day.
