BCSO Responds to Person Shot
On April 8th, 2026 at approximately 08:05 hours, sheriff’s office personnel were dispatched to 26 Kingston Hwy, Cartersville GA in reference to a reported domestic incident. Responding units arrived within minutes and located several individuals inside the residence. One adult male was found with a gunshot injury requiring medical attention, and emergency crews transported the man to a local medical facility for treatment and evaluation. Items of potential evidentiary value were secured, and the residence was cleared for safety. Witnesses on scene provided preliminary information to responding personnel. Investigators have assumed responsibility for the case, which remains active and under review. No charges have been filed at this time and this is believed to be a self-defense action. No additional details are expected to be released.
