ATLANTA (March 11, 2022) | In February, Senator Bruce Thompson (R – White) was named Legislator of the Year by the Georgia State Firefighters Association (GSFA) while attending the 15th Annual Fire Service Legislative Appreciation banquet. The GSFA was founded in 1952 and is the largest and oldest fire service organization in the State of Georgia.

“I am greatly humbled and honored by this recognition from the Georgia State Firefighters Association, composed of men and women who sacrifice every day for the safety of Georgia citizens when they show up ready to quite literally put out flames,” said Sen. Thompson. “As a U.S. Army National Guard veteran, I understand what it means to risk your life for a greater cause, and I believe that service members of all fields have a unique ability to honor the courage of others. I thank the GSFA again for this wonderful recognition.”
