The accident occurred at 2:12 a.m. Monday morning. Georgia State Troopers were called to Grassdale Road and Highway 41 to investigate a serious injury Vehicle and Pedestrian crash. Upon arrival, it was determined that a 2019 Nissan Sentra, was traveling north on Highway 41, in the left turning lane. Brian McLaughlin, age 57, of Cartersville, was walking west outside of a crosswalk, attempting to cross the highway.
McLaughlin traveled into the left turning lane and was struck by the front of the Sentra. McLaughlin was transported to Piedmont Cartersville Medical Center with serious injuries. He succumbed to his injuries at the hospital. No charges are pending currently.
