We now have more information surrounding the events that led to the vehicular homicide of 42-year-old Shauna D’Agostino of Euharlee on Saturday morning.
A complainant stated she and her boyfriend, 34-year-old Trevus Jamaahl Baugh of Cartersville, were having a verbal argument at her residence on Cathedral Heights near Euharlee that morning. She said that Baugh went into her purse during the incident, took the keys to her black 2016 Hyundai Elantra, and stole the car. That car was involved in the accident that took D’Agostino’s life just over four miles east of the residence minutes later.
A witness corroborated Baugh’s girlfriend’s statement.
The responding deputy located Baugh’s driver’s license on the driveway near where the Elantra was reportedly parked. An investigator found a wallet containing Baugh’s debit cards in the wrecked car at the fatal scene.
Law enforcement later apprehended Baugh in Cherokee County while fleeing from another traffic accident. The accident involved a stolen vehicle from a residence on Euharlee Road about 3/10ths of a mile east of the fatal accident.
We will continue to update the story when possible.
