Jody Matthews Sworn In As Police Chief By Mayor Steve Worthington With Council Member Tracy Queen Looking On

Jody Matthews was sworn in as Euharlee’s Chief of Police during a city council work session at City Hall on Tuesday night. Many members of his family, city employees and police officers, and citizens were in attendance. Also in attendance were personnel from his previous employer for the last 17 years, the Powder Springs Police department. Matthews was most recently a Lieutenant there.

Matthews will officially begin his duties on June 20th. He is replacing Lee New, who retired as Euharlee’s Chief of Police on May 1st.
