The October term of the Bartow County Grand Jury no-billed a case involving a man charged with second-degree vehicular homicide.  The Grand Jury determined that the case should not proceed to Bartow Superior Court.  Joshua Dusten Ferguson was charged following the 2018 death of 43-year-old Robert Baker.  Ferguson was driving a Cartersville garbage truck on December 26, 2018.  Baker, a Floyd County Prison inmate, was riding on the back of the truck. He became pinned between the truck and a utility pole as the truck backed down Church Street from Jones Street.  Baker was transported to the Cartersville Medical Center, where he died of his injuries.  Ferguson was later charged with second-degree vehicular homicide and failure to the maintain lane.
