A homeless man facing 45 charges in Bartow County is in jail.
A Bartow County deputy located a white 2020 GMC Sierra at Circle K on State Route 20 and State Route 20 Spur near Cartersville early Saturday morning that they believed 41-year-old Hal Beaumont Beacham the Third was driving. Beacham had 36 outstanding warrants through Bartow County.
When the deputy asked Beacham to identify himself upon Beacham’s exit from the store, he reportedly claimed his name was Brent Beacham.
As two deputies tried to detain him, Beacham purportedly pulled a handgun from his waistband and threw it under his truck, so deputies held him at gunpoint.
Upon deputies leading Beacham to a patrol vehicle, he purportedly tossed a bag of methamphetamine and a glass smoking pipe from his waistband on the ground.
A search on the handgun Beacham allegedly had on him came back stolen from Cherokee County.
Deputies arrested Hal Beacham for theft by taking for the firearm, three counts of obstructing law enforcement officers, giving a false name to a law enforcement officer, possession of a firearm during the commission of certain crimes, possession of a firearm by a convicted felon, possession of methamphetamine, and possession and use of drug-related objects.
His 36 outstanding warrants range from July 1st, 2022, to March 2nd, 2023. – five for criminal trespass, 12 for criminal damage to property in the second degree, 15 for theft by taking, two for theft by receiving stolen property, one for entering a motor vehicle intending to commit a crime, and one for violating probation.
The Cherokee Tribune and Ledger-News reported that SWAT looked for him on May 4th at a home near Kellogg Creek Road west of the bridge in southwest Cherokee and shut down the road while they looked for him. Authorities there accuse him of stealing an ATV on January 23rd.
