Four local baseball teams were in action last night. Cartersville picked up its third region win on the season last night as it beat Ridgeland by a score of 13-0 in just five innings. Adairsville beat Murray County 12-2 last night, led by pitcher Sam Seaman, who pitched a complete game. Woodland was not as fortunate as it lost to Troy last night by score of 10-6 and picked up its 14th loss on the season. Excel picked up another loss on Monday to fall to 1-12 on the season, as it was shutout by Walker 10-0 after mustering just two hits.

The county went 1-2 yesterday in soccer. Cartersville improved their season record to 9-3, as they beat Heritage by a score of 6-2, while Woodland and Adairsville were both shutout. Woodland lost 4-0 and pushed their winless streak to 10, while Adairsville lost to Gordon Central 5-0 and now sits 5-5 overall on the season.

In girls soccer, the Adairsville Lady Tigers remain undefeated on the season, as they won 3-0 over Calhoun. The Lady Canes picked up their second loss on the year, as they fell to Heritage by a score of 2-1. The Lady Cats were shutout by Creekview by a score of 4-0 and the Lady Colonels fell to River Ridge by a score of 10-0.

The Georgia Highlands Chargers lost their opening game of a four game series to East Georgia State last night by a score of 11-5. The Chargers are now 2-3 in conference play.

Today in baseball, three local teams are in action with times starting at 5:55. Cass will welcome River Ridge, Woodland will welcome Kell and Cartersville will welcome Southeast Whitfield.
