In soccer last night, both Cartersville teams shutout Gilmer as the boys team won 3-0 and the girls team won 4-0. The Cartersville boys are 7-2 overall and 3-1 in region play, while the girls are 7-1 overall and 4-0 in region play. Both Cass soccer teams blanked Pickens Tuesday evening. The Cass boys won by a score of 5-0 on Monday and improved to 5-2-1 on the season and 1-1 in region play, while the Cass girls won 4-0 and improved to 3-6-1 on the season. The Woodland boys team fell to River Ridge on Monday night and pushed its winless streak to seven games on the season, when it lost 5-1. The Wildcats are now 0-7 on the season and 0-3 in region play. The Lady Cats also lost to River Ridge on Monday, as they fell 3-2 and are now 3-5 on the season and 1-2 in region play.

In baseball, Excel fell to St. Francis by a score of 11-1 on Tuesday evening. The Eagles are now 1-7 on the season and 0-7 in region play. Adairsville also lost last night as they fell to North Murray 5-2 in their region contest. Adairsville is now riding a two-game losing streak and is 4-4 on the season and 1-1 in region play.

At the collegiate level, a four-run sixth inning led to Georgia Highlands losing their conference opener to Darton State last night 5-2. The Chargers are now 14-12 on the season.

Also at the collegiate level, the Georgia Highlands College Women’s Basketball team fell to the No. 1 seeded Gulf Coast State yesterday afternoon by a score of 71-64 and was eliminated from the NJCAA tournament. The Lady Chargers finished the year with a 26-10 record, their first Region 17 Championship, NJCAA District J Championship and first NJCAA National Tournament appearance.

Today in baseball, Woodland will host Sequoyah at 5:55 and Cass will host Rome at 6:00.

The Georgia Highlands College Men’s Basketball Team will play their first NJCAA tournament game this evening at 7:00. The three seeded Chargers will take on the No. 19 seed in Northeast Oklahoma A&M.

Tomorrow on the soccer slate, Adairsville will host Murray County at 5:30.

In baseball, Excel will host Fellowship Christian at 5:30 and Adairsville will host Coahulla Creek at 5:55.

At the collegiate level, Georgia Highlands will travel to take on Darton State for the second game of their three game series at 6:00.
