The Woodland High School girls cross country team earned a national ranking this week according to MileSplitUSA. The Lady Wildcats are ranked as the 103rd best Cross Country team in the nation.
Yesterday in softball, both Cass and Woodland dropped region contests. Woodland fell to Carrollton by a score of 7-1, while Cass lost a pitcher’s duel to Kell by a score of 1-0.
Today on the softball diamond, four local teams are in action as Excel will host Darling at 4:30, Cass will host Woodland at 5:00, Cartersville will host Central and Carrollton at 5:30 and Adairsville will travel to Bremen at 5:30.
On tomorrow’s softball slate, Woodland will play two games against Calvary Day at 5 PM and Tift County at 7 PM on a neutral site in Lowndes, and Cartersville will play Roswell at 7:45 on a neutral site in North Cobb.
All four local teams have football games tomorrow night at 7:30. Adairsville will open up region play with a home game against Ringgold, Cartersville will host Westlake, while Woodland will host Cass for an intra-county and region contest.
