Cartersville baseball fell to Lambert yesterday by a score of 3-0 in its season opener. Its next opponent will be against Johns Creek on Saturday at Richard Bell Field. The Woodland baseball team fell to Kennesaw Mountain by a score of 15-0. The Wildcats are now 1-1 on the season.

At the collegiate level, the Georgia Highlands Chargers swept Southern Union yesterday at Lakepoint by scores of 6-3 and 7-6. The Chargers are now 10-5 on the season and will next play on Friday against Sinclair State at 1:00.

The Lady Colonels soccer team picked up their second win of the season over Temple as it won 10-0. The team is now 2-1-1 on the season.

In basketball, Georgia Highlands College beat Handle it Prep by a score of 108-52. The Chargers are now 28-1 on the season, and will conclude regular season play on Saturday against Gordon College.

Today on the sports slate, The Excel baseball team will travel to Walker at 5:00 and the Adairsville soccer team will host Trion at 5:30.

Tomorrow on the agenda, three teams will be in action for baseball, as Woodland will host LaGrange at 5:30 and Adairsville will travel to Cass for an intra-county game at 7:30.

On Friday’s soccer slate, the Woodland girls will host Allatoona at 5:00 and Cass will travel to Cartersville at 5:30.
