The county won two and lost two in football Friday night. Woodland lost to Carrollton by a score of 36-0 to fall to 0-5 on the season, Cass lost to Kell by a score of 39-7 to fall to 3-2 on the season, Adairsville beat North Murray by a score of 35-21 to improve to 2-3 on the season, and Cartersville beat Cedartown by a score of 44-6 on Friday night to improve to 5-0 on the season and improved it’s current state-best winning streak to 19 games.

In softball over the weekend, Cartersville’s Hannah Todd threw her third no-hitter of the season as the Lady canes beat LaGrange by scores of 7-0 and 3-0 with todd pitching both games. With the wins, Cartersville clinched the fourth seed in the region tournament and home field advantage. The Lady Colonels softball team fell to Carrollton by a score of 13-0 on Saturday. The loss eliminated the Lady Colonels from postseason play and, instead, put intra-county rival Woodland into the region playoffs.

The Bartow County Volleyball Championship was held Saturday afternoon, with Cartersville as the Bartow County Champion. Adairsville finished second, Cass finished third with Woodland placing fourth.

Today in softball, Adairsville will host Excel for a game at 4:30.

Tomorrow in softball, Cass will play Carrollton at 5:55.
