The Lady Wildcats soccer team downed Cass by a score of 3-1 on Friday. The Cass boys team returned the favor as it cruised to a 10-0 victory over Woodland. Both boys and girls teams were victorious for Cartersville on Friday, as the Lady Canes won 4-1 and the boys team won 3-1 over Sprayberry.

Friday’s baseball scores include Excel’s first win of the season. The Eagles beat Armuchee by a score of 11-4. The Canes picked up their first victory on the season, as they beat Coosa by a score of 3-0 on Saturday. The Adairsville baseball was not as fortunate, as it fell to North Cobb by a score of 8-4. The Excel baseball team also fell on Saturday as it lost to North Cobb Christian by a score of 5-1.

And at the collegiate level, the Georgia Highlands College women’s basketball team beat Spartanburg Methodist by a score of 76-43. The Lady Chargers will next play in the national tournament. The Georgia Highlands College men’s basketball team also punched its ticket to the NJCAA tournament, as it beat Central Georgia 78-72 to win back-to-back NJCAA Region 17 Championships.

In collegiate baseball, the Georgia Highlands Chargers took three of their four games this weekend and improved their record to 13-9 on the season, as they get ready to take on Wallace State tomorrow.

Today in baseball, Cass will play Norfolk at 5:30 and Woodland will host Rome at 6:00. You can hear the Wildcats taking on the Wolves live on AM 1450 WBHF and on FM 100.3, with pregame coming your way at 5:45.

Tomorrow in golf, Adairsville will welcome Gordon Central at 4:00.

In soccer, two local teams are in action with both games starting at 5:30. Adairsville will travel to Lakeview-Fort Ogelthorpe and Cartersville will travel to Southeast Whitfield.
