The Adairsville Lady Tigers soccer team has gotten off to a strong start in its 2016 season, as it beat Haralson on Thursday night by a score of 10-0.

The Cartersville Football Team annouced its 2016 schedule this week. Here it is:

Four Bartow County swimmers will represent the county at the Georgia 14-and-under Short course Championship Swim meet this weekend. Giulia Vidoli, Rylee Moss, Samantha Mobley and Harleigh Mobley earned the right to compete at the meet through the individual qualifying times they posted earlier this season.

Another Bartow County football player is taking his talents to the next level, as Adairsville wide receiver Austin Cobb signed a scholarship to play football at LaGrange College last week. Cobb, a senior, had a shortened 2015 season due to injury.

Today on the sports slate, the Woodland baseball team will travel to Pepperell for a 4:30 start time.

Four local teams have soccer matches today. Adairsville will travel to Bremen at 5:30, Woodland will travel to North Springs at 5:30, Cass will welcome Cedartown at 5:30 and Cartersville will travel to Chestatee at 5:55.

Tomorrow in sports, the Georgia Highlands College baseball team will play a doubleheader at 1:00 against Cleveland State. The Chargers are 5-4 on the season.

Also tomorrow, the 25-1 Georgia Highlands College basketball team will take its 25 game winning streak on the road to South Georgia State for a conference game at 4:00. South Georgia State is ranked 18th in the nation.
