There was an increased law enforcement presence at Piedmont Cartersville Medical Center on Thursday night at around eight o’clock due to a suspicious call.

An anonymous caller reportedly told a hospital employee that a black male had done something nearby and was on his way to the hospital armed, then hung up the phone.

Security placed the hospital on lockdown.

After securing the hospital and doing a safety check, Bartow County deputies determined that the male was not there.

The BCSO placed an extra patrol at the medical center.
