On Monday March 10th, 2014 Agents with the Bartow-Cartersville Drug Task Force (FBI Safe Streets Task Force), U.S. Marshals Fugitive Task Force, Department of Homeland Security Investigations, and Immigrations and Customs Enforcement Fugitive Operations Unit arrested a fugitive who has been wanted in Massachusetts since 1997.

According to Bartow-Cartersville Drug Task Force Commander Mark Mayton the task force received a criminal arrest warrant for Phillip Andrew Lewis from Springfield Police Department in Massachusetts.  At approximately 0620 hours officers located Lewis at a residence in Bartow County and placed him under arrest for the outstanding warrant for “Rape of child with force”.  Immigrations and Customs Enforcement placed a hold on Lewis due to his immigration status.

Sheriff Millsap and Chief Culpepper said that Lewis was transported to the Bartow County Jail pending his extradition to Massachusetts.

The following individual was arrested and jailed at the Bartow County Jail:

  1. Phillip Andrew Lewis, 43 years old of 19 Campfire Trail Euharlee, Georgia is charged with Massachusetts Warrant for “Rape of child with force”.
