On Tuesday morning, a Bartow County school bus was one of two vehicles involved in an accident on Joe Frank Harris Parkway at Mac Johnson Road.

The Georgia State Patrol’s preliminary findings show that a Chrysler van was traveling south on Joe Frank Harris Parkway in the right lane. The bus was attempting to turn left onto Joe Frank Harris Parkway from Mac Johnson Road.

The van reportedly ran the red light and struck the left side of the bus with its front. First responders transported the driver of the Chrysler to Floyd Medical Center for treatment. Six children and one monitor were on the bus and had no reports of injuries.

The bus was taking students to Hamilton Crossing Elementary and Cass High.
