There are only two days left of early voting for the special election for the white city mayor seat, and less than a week until election day.
Advanced voting will continue to be open on Thursday March 16th from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. and on Friday March 17th from 8 a.m. to 5 p.m. The only place where advanced voting is available is at the Bartow County Elections Office located at 1300 Joe Frank Harris Parkway. Only two candidates qualified for this election who are Karen Lee and Curtis Powell. As of March 14th, there have been 7 ballots casts during the advanced voting period.
If you have not voted yet it is important to note that only voters that live in the City of White are eligible to vote in this election. There may be some voters that have a “White, GA 30184” address that may not be eligible to participate in this special election. Any voters with a W1 municipal precinct are eligible to vote. However, if you would like to confirm your eligibility to vote in this election you can visit the “my voter page” on the secretary of state’s website. You may also contact the city of white to confirm your eligibility.
There will be no advanced voting this coming weekend or Monday March 20th. Election day will be on March 21st with the polls being open from 7 a.m. until 7 p.m. The only place where you will be able to cast ballots on election day is at the White United Methodist Church.
