ATLANTA – October 8, 2024 Effective immediately, Kristy Wofford has been named as Georgia Power’s Cartersville Area Manager. In this role, she will lead external activities for the Cartersville area serving customers and communities in Bartow & Polk counties. In addition, she will support and coordinate region operations, sales, customer service, and community and economic development for the region.
“Kristy’s twenty-plus years of cross functional experience in customer service, renewable development, product marketing, and energy efficiency make her well qualified to safely deliver reliable energy, innovative solutions and superior customer value,” said Jeff Petrea, Northwest Region Executive for Georgia Power. “Her experience working externally with regulators, industry advocates, and others combined with existing relationships in Bartow and Polk counties will enable her to quicky continue contributing to the success of these communities.”
Wofford will be headquartered in Cartersville as she begins her new role. She began her career with Georgia Power in 2002 as a Sales & Service Consultant at Georgia Power’s Customer Care Center. She has held numerous roles including Billing, Credit & Collection Specialist, Renewable Energy Planning Analyst, Renewable Project Development Lead, Product Marketing Implementation Coordinator and Project Manager. Her most recent role was the Energy Efficiency Regulatory Manager for Southern Company.
Wofford earned a Bachelor of Science degree in Advertising from the Art Institute. She has served and supported numerous boards and committees throughout her career, most recently engaging with the Georgia Public Service Commission Staff & energy efficiency industry advocacy groups, United Way of Northeast Georgia, and the E Source Leadership Council & Demand Side Management Advisory Board.
