CARTERSVILLE, Ga. – Work could begin soon on the bridge on Interstate 75 over Cedar Creek Road in Bartow County. Georgia DOT has just awarded a contract to Comanche Construction, Inc. of Marietta valued at nearly three million dollars for the rehabilitation of this bridge. The rehabilitation work includes the installation of new bearings at two of the bridge abutments, hydro-blasting of the existing bridge deck and application of a new riding surface, removal and reconstruction of the back wall and edge beams, installation of new bridge joints, and painting of the existing superstructure.
This bridge rehabilitation project is scheduled to be completed by the end of August 2014, at a construction cost of $2,773,612. Information on bridge work and lane closure schedules on this project will be forthcoming before work begins.
