ATLANTA – The Georgia Department of Labor (GDOL) will help Halex Corporation, a flooring installation manufacturer, recruit employees to work in the Calhoun plant.

The recruitment will be held Tuesday, Oct. 18, from 9-11 a.m. at the Gordon County Agricultural Center located at 1282 Highway 53 Spur in Calhoun. GDOL staff will be on site to help the applicants.

The employer is recruiting industrial electrical mechanical maintenance apprentices, utility operators along with shipping and receiving operators.

Due to U.S. Occupational Safety and Health Administration (OSHA) regulations, all applicants must be at least 18 years old. A high school diploma, or a General Education Diploma (GED), is required for the industrial electrical mechanical maintenance apprentices and the shipping and receiving operators.

Industrial electrical mechanical maintenance apprentices require six months or more of related experience. Shipping and receiving and utility operators require at least one year of experience.

Industrial electrical mechanical maintenance apprentice salaries will range from $16 to $18 an hour. The salary for the shipping and receiving operator will range from $13.50 to $15 an hour.
