ATLANTA — The Georgia Department of Labor (GDOL) and St. Leo University will co-sponsor a career expo for veterans Tuesday, July 21, in Marietta. The expo will be held from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. in the university’s Marietta Education Center located at 1395 South Marietta Parkway.

Staff from the veterans unit of the GDOL’s Cobb-Cherokee Career Center will be available to help the job seekers.  While the expo is intended to focus on employment assistance for veterans, it is open to anyone.

The expo will feature about 25 employers, educational institutions and resource agencies that provide assistance to job seekers. The employers will be hiring or discussing future employment opportunities, while other organizations will provide educational and other resources. Applicants should bring plenty of resumes and be prepared to fill out company applications and interview for available jobs. Attendees are encouraged to dress appropriately to improve their opportunities for jobs.

Applicants with college degrees in accounting, business administration, computer information systems, criminal justice, health care, human resources, religion, sociology, and technology management are encouraged to attend the event.

Those expected to participate in the expo include: Alorica, Aramark, Automotive Staffing, Carmax, Cobb County Department of Public Safety, Cobb County Department of Family and Children’s Services, Department of Veterans Affairs, G4S Secure Solutions, Highgrove Partners, LLC, Home Depot, Interactive Utility Services, Kennesaw State University, Marietta Police Department, Marietta Power and Water, Material in Motion, Paulding County Police Department, Safe Link, Smyrna Police Department, Teachers R US and the U.S. Department of Justice.
