Tomorrow the free drive-up COVID-19 testing site opens in Emerson. The Georgia Department of Public Health has contracted with MAKO Medical to provide the tests.

The Bartow County site is at LakePointe Sports Complex at 261 Stars Way in Emerson, and it will operate weekly on Tuesdays and Thursdays from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

The only requirements for the test are having a Georgia address and registering online at https://mako.exchange/splash/GAmakotesting/. Those without internet access can get assistance with registration by calling 919-351-6256.

Test results generally come in within two to three days, and can be accessed either through MAKO Medical’s online portal or by opting into text message notifications during the registration process.

A site at Catoosa County opened today at the Colonnade at 264 Catoosa Circle in Ringgold, GA. It will be open on Mondays and Wednesdays weekly from 10 a.m. to 7 p.m.

The PCR testing will be done via nasal swab. Anyone who has COVID-19 type symptoms, or is known to have recently been in close contact with someone infected with the virus needs to be tested, even if they are fully vaccinated.
