The National Weather Service (NWS) in Peachtree City has issued a flash flood watch for portions of northern and west-central Georgia, including Bartow County, from Wednesday morning at 8:00 through Thursday evening at 8:00.

The NWS expects periods of heavy rainfall across the area with the rain bands from the remnants of Tropical Storm Zeta as it tracks inland through the end of the week. The NWS expects Associated rainfall totals of two to three inches across north and northwest Georgia with locally higher amounts possible.

A flash flood watch means that conditions may develop that lead to flash flooding. Flash flooding is a hazardous situation. You should monitor later forecasts and be prepared to take action should flash flood warnings be issued.
