Five people were left injured after a traffic accident that occurred on Highway 411 at Macedonia Road near the Etowah River boat ramp. Saturday’s accident involved a Ford Escape, which held four occupants, and a Chevrolet Cobalt, which held three. The Escape was traveling northbound on Taylorsville-Macedonia Road, while the Cobalt was traveling eastbound on Highway 411. The Escape attempted to turn left onto 411, but failed to yield to the Cobalt. As the Escape entered the intersection, the front of the Cobalt struck the left front panel of the Escape, which then rotated clockwise. The left side of the Escape struck the right side of the Cobalt, before coming to a rest facing north in the intersection. The Cobalt came to rest in the westbound lanes facing east.

The driver of the Escape had a possible broken arm, while one other passenger was taken to Floyd Medical Center for minor injuries. All three occupants of the Cobalt were transported to Floyd Medical Center for minor injuries.
