Bartow County EMS and other agencies responded to a tractor trailer accident on I-75 near mile marker 285 (Red Top Mountain Rd exit) Wednesday night.
The truck left the roadway, striking the wires in the median. The truck burst into flames with the driver inside. Bystanders helped to free the driver.
The driver was a 35-year-old male who suffered second and third degree burns to an arm and leg. He also had an altered mental status.
All northbound and southbound lanes were closed temporarily as Air Life had to land and transport the driver. He was flown to Grady Memorial Hospital for treatment.
