So far, seven people have died on Georgia roads this holiday weekend, one from Cartersville.  According to preliminary reports from the Georgia State Patrol, the crash occurred on Saturday, May 25, 2024, at 12:59 pm.  Troopers responded to a single-vehicle crash on Rudy York Road, in Bartow County. A GMC Sierra was traveling east on Rudy York Road and left the roadway, where it overturned and ejected the driver. The driver was transported to Piedmont Cartersville where they were pronounced deceased. The name of the deceased was not included in the report from the Georgia State Patrol.
