A fatal accident occurred in Bartow County over the weekend. On Saturday afternoon just before 4:00, a 2000 Jeep Cherokee, driven by 54-year-old Tanya Wigand of Grayson, was traveling in the left lane of I-75 southbound, just south of MM 298. The driver lost control of the vehicle and left the east side of the roadway. The Jeep then struck a guardrail with its left side. After impact, the Jeep rotated, and then overturned multiple times. The Jeep then came to a final rest on top of the guardrail facing westbound. Wigand died from injuries sustained in the accident.
