Press Release: The Board of Directors at Excel Christian Academy has named Dr. Randolph (Randy) Ford as its new Headmaster, to lead the school. Dr. Ford will assume all campus executive administrative responsibilities as we move into the new school year. Dr. Ford’s first day on campus was Monday, July 13th. After meeting with faculty and staff, he will work closely with the Board of Directors on finalizing the strategic plans to open for the 2020-2021 school year.

His record of service along with his strong leadership skill set, make him a great choice to lead the school.” shared Daniel R. Deems, Chairman of the Board of Directors.

“It is an honor to be named Headmaster of Excel Christian Academy. As a retired principal, I am aware of the challenges that this year poses for students, parents, and our staff. My goal is to keep in place the great traditions of the school by making sure that students continue to receive a quality education. While maintaining our high educational goals, the safety and health of all students will also be given top priority during this unprecedented time of the Covid-19 pandemic.” remarked Dr. Ford.

For Dr. Ford, the appointment to Headmaster of Excel school is like coming home. Dr. Ford has served in the role of Principal at four different schools from 1987 to 2010. For more than 23 years, Dr. Ford served in educational leadership roles at the elementary, middle, and high school levels. During his tenure as Principal he began at Clark Middle School in Cordele, GA. From there, Dr. Ford went on to Henry County Middle School (McDonough, GA), Allatoona Elementary School (Acworth, GA), and finally Dooly County High School (Vienna, GA).

Dr. Ford received his Doctorate in Educational Leadership from Argosy University, his Educational Specialist degree from Jacksonville State University, his Master’s in Education and Administration Leadership degree from the State University of West Georgia, and his bachelor’s degree from Voorhees College.

“I’ve known Dr. Ford for more than 15 years, and have always admired his passion for education, helping kids with their learning, and mentoring adults like myself. In all my years knowing him, I know that he is a leader of leaders. Dr. Ford has always provided me a listening and thoughtful ear, always backed by sound advice. Anyone that knows Dr. Ford also knows that he is a Christ-centered man, and second only to that someone that will do all he can to help support children in our community. I am excited to introduce him to our Excel Christian Academy family, and look forward to the many ways he will lead our school and help us grow closer to the local community.” stated school Liaison to the Board of Directors, Tony Suber.

In making the announcement, the school acknowledged the work and contributions made by Donna Garland.  “When you think of Excel, you think of Donna Garland. For over 15 Years as a Teacher, Counselor, Director of Marketing and Advancement, Chief Operating Officer, and School Administrator, Donna has served Excel, and has served with excellence.  Her efforts and love for Excel and its community have positioned the school for an even greater impact in providing a quality education in a Christian Atmosphere, “stated Mr. Deems.
