The Adairsville Police Department is currently investigating a shooting. On 02-04-2023 at about 8:15 p.m., an incident occurred in the parking lot of the Blue Agave restaurant located at 15 Legacy Way in Adairsville.
Initial details emerged that a father and son had gotten into an argument in the restaurant that led out into the parking lot area. A few moments later, the argument resulted in the father producing a pistol and shooting his son, causing injury to his forearm and abdomen. Both men were still on the scene moments later when the Adairsville Police Department arrived on scene.
The father, Stanley Jarrett, age 64, of Snow Springs Road, Adairsville, was taken into custody. The pistol was recovered along with a spent shell casing found on the scenee of the shooting. The victim, David Jarrett, age 40, of Lakewood Drive Carrollton, Ga., was transported to Floyd Medical Center in Rome and taken directly into surgery. The victim is currently in the ICU in stable condition.
Stanley Jarrett was transported to Bartow County Jail and charged with Aggravated Assault, Possession of a Firearm during the commission of a felony, Reckless Conduct, and Pointing a gun at another person. The Adairsville Police Department is still working on finalizing the details of the Investigation.
