Travis Lamond Crawford Jr.

Cartersville Police booked a suspect into the county jail Monday afternoon for a violent incident that allegedly occurred at Grassdale Suites at 1400 Joe Frank Harris Parkway on August 14th.

On that day, a complainant stated that a black male named Travis, later identified as 24-year-old Travis Lamond Crawford Jr. of Kennesaw, went to her room, beat her up, and shot a gun at her.

She stated that at around 7:35 p.m., Crawford went to her apartment after sending her a text message about him retrieving a tattoo gun. She attempted to close the door, but Crawford stepped into the room and said she would pay.

She stated Crawford grabbed her by the hair and threw her on the floor in front of the refrigerator. The complainant said that she got back up and attempted to defend herself by hitting Crawford in the face with the back of her hand. She stated that Crawford then pushed her back to the floor once again.

The complainant stated that Crawford grabbed her wallet while she was on the floor and ran out the door. While chasing Crawford, the complainant said he ran down the steps on the other side of the building and got into a silver car’s passenger seat.

She stated that while Crawford was in the vehicle with the door open, he shot a handgun in her direction, but it did not hit her. The complainant stated that she ran when Crawford shot the gun, and the vehicle drove out of the parking lot.

She stated that the vehicle’s driver was a black male, but she did not know who he was, nor did she recognize the car.

The complainant stated that she knew that Crawford’s gun was a black and tan 9mm pistol because he tried to give it to her in the past. She was treated on scene by EMS for a sore back but refused transport.

An investigator took the complainant’s statement, collected the shell casing, and retrieved video of the incident from the surveillance cameras at Grassdale Suites.

The CPD charged Travis Crawford with aggravated assault involving the use of a firearm, armed robbery, possession of a weapon during the commission of crimes, and possession of a firearm by a convicted felon.
