The Cass Colonels (3-3) lost to the Cedartown Bulldogs 36-0 on Friday night.

Without their starting quarterback, the Colonels tried to find new ways to generate offense, but the Bulldog defense proved too tough. Early on, special teams mistakes sealed Cass’s fate.

The Colonels misfired on three fourth-down snaps, handing the Bulldogs the ball deep in Cass territory. Cedartown capitalized on these errors, scoring 17 points from the special teams miscues. When starting from their own side of the field, the Bulldogs were limited to just 12 points, thanks to a strong defensive effort by Cass.

Despite the disappointing loss, the Colonels’ defense showed promise. They made it difficult for Cedartown to move the ball, which bodes well for Cass moving forward. If the Colonels can clean up the mistakes, they should be competitive in upcoming region games.

Cass will host the Woodland Wildcats next Friday night at 7:30. Fans can stream the game on Bartow Sports Zone.
