BARTOW COUNTY, Ga. (May 7, 2021) – The Cass High School Band will march to a different
beat next year under the new leadership of Sam Iddings.
“The Cass Band is a family,” says Iddings. “The band room is a place where students come to
feel at home and to be a part of something bigger than themselves. Lifelong relationships are
built at Cass along with lessons and memories that will last a lifetime.”
Iddings will move into the director role after serving two years as assistant director of bands at
Cass High School. He plans to continue the great work being done at CHS alongside the Cass
Middle School Band to ensure that students continue their love for music and become exemplary
leaders through the experience.
“The Cass Band Mission Statement is ‘To foster a lifelong habit of excellence through music
education,’ adds Iddings. “This is in line with my personal philosophy. My goal is to provide the
students with the highest quality musical experience possible while also developing a great work
ethic, love for music, and a high-quality character in the process.”
Iddings, known for his energy and engaging teaching style, already has plans for the 2021-22
academic year.
“The Cass Band students are ready to share their musicianship and talents with the City of
White, the City of Cartersville, and the State of Georgia,” says Iddings. “We are currently
preparing for an incredibly exciting 2021 marching band show. We are excited to see you on
Friday nights in the fall!”
