The SunTrust on Joe Frank Harris Parkway in Cartersville was robbed around 9:49 Friday morning, according to Jonathan Rogers, public information officer for the Bartow County Sheriff’s Office. Rogers stated that the suspect was a black male wearing a red sweatshirt, blue sweatpants, white athletic shoes and had a red bandana covering his face. He left with an undisclosed amount of cash and fled on foot towards the old Ryan’s location next door. The suspect did not show a gun, but appeared to have one on his person. One customer was at the bank at the time of the robbery and the rest were bank employees. No one was hurt during the robbery.

Currently the bank is closed as they wait for a tracking dog to appear at the scene. The bank is scheduled to be open later today.
