The investigation began in June 2014 and led to the arrest of Gilmore on Wednesday, March 2, 2016.  On March 2, an officer assigned to CPD’s Special Operations unit observed Gilmore leaving his residence. The officer initiated a traffic stop on the suspect and positively identified Gilmore. During the traffic stop, Gilmore was arrested for drug charges and a cell phone and tablet were seized.

CPD and HSI investigators interviewed Gilmore and he admitted to being in possession of, amassing, disseminating, soliciting, and receiving child pornography through peer-to-peer websites and social media applications. Gilmore was found to be in possession of over 300 images and videos of sexually explicit content involving children on multiple electronic devices.

On Thursday, March 3, Investigators were able to obtain a search warrant for Gilmore’s residence. Approximately 30 cell phones, computers, external hard drives, and cameras were seized. Narcotics and two firearms were also seized from the residence. Four people, who are all residents of the house, were arrested for various drug and gun charges.

At this time, only one of the victims has been identified as being from Bartow County. Investigators are working with the National Center for Missing and Exploited Children to identify other victims. At this time, the investigation is still on-going.
