A Cartersville man was killed in a motorcycle crash Saturday in Bartow County, According to preliminary reports from the Georgia State Patrol, on August 8, 2026, at approximately 12:52 a.m., a Trooper responded to a two-vehicle crash at the intersection of Highway 20 and Service Road. The initial investigation revealed that a Dodge Journey traveling south on Service Road attempted to turn left onto Highway 20. A Honda CBR650R motorcycle driven by 27-year-old Connor Smith was traveling west on Highway 20 in the left lane. The driver of the Dodge entered the motorcycle’s path and was struck in the driver’s side by the motorcycle. Connor Smith succumbed to his injuries on scene. The female driver of the Dodge and a child passenger were transported to Piedmont Cartersville Medical Center to be treated for minor injuries. The GSP Troop A Specialized Collision Reconstruction Team responded to the scene and is assisting with this investigation. This is an ongoing investigation.
