A Cartersville man was apprehended on Friday night after a pursuit that involved the Bartow County Sheriff’s Office and the Georgia State Patrol. At 11:40 PM Friday, a Georgia State Patrol Trooper was requested by the Bartow County Sheriff’s Office for assistance with a pursuit. As the pursuit traveled southbound on Highway 41, the trooper joined the pursuit and was requested to take the primary position. The trooper attempted to set up for a P.I.T. maneuver after turning onto Firetower Road in Cartersville but was blocked by the violator’s vehicle making contact between the vehicles. The pursuit continued and turned right on to Cassville Road northbound. The trooper successfully performed a P.I.T. maneuver, ending the pursuit near marker 13. The driver, Michael Kinsey Haynes, 29, of Cartersville, sustained injuries and was transported to the hospital by ambulance. He was charged with fleeing and attempting to elude, DUI, reckless driving, suspended license, and several other violations.
