A Cartersville man is charged with vehicular homicide following a crash on Old Allatoona Road.  According to Georgia State Patrol reports, 62-year-old Elaine Carolyn Elmore of Cartersville died in a two-vehicle crash on Sunday, August 25th, 2024 just before 5:30 p.m.

According to the report, a 2016 Chrysler Town and Country van driven by Elaine Elmore was traveling east on Old Allatoona Road and a 2014 Kia Sorrento driven by 33-year-old Robert Hoyt Kyle Temples was traveling west on Old Allatoona Road. The report states that Temples was attempting to negotiate a curve when he failed to maintain his lane by crossing over the center line. As a result, this caused the Kia Sorento to strike the Chrysler Van in the front with its front. The area of impact was in the eastbound lane of Old Allatoona Road.

The drivers of each vehicle were trapped and had to be extricated from the vehicles. Temples received minor injuries in the crash.  A two-year-old child traveling in Temples’ vehicle also received minor injuries.
