ATLANTA – A Cartersville man has chiseled a jackpot prize playing Fantasy 5. Charles Hatch Jr., who works in carpet manufacturing, matched all five winning numbers from the Oct. 8 Fantasy 5 drawing for an $80,289 prize.

Hatch is one of three players each to win the $80,289 jackpot prize.

Ameri-Mart, 1153 Burnt Hickory Road S.E. in Cartersville, sold the winning ticket. The other jackpot winning tickets were sold in Atlanta and West Point.

Winning numbers from the Oct. 8 Fantasy 5 drawing were: 1-4-17-31-33.

Checking the Georgia Lottery’s website, Hatch discovered he’d won.

“I called my wife, and she’s pretty excited,” he said.

The lucky winner and his wife, Nancy, have two adult children and one grandchild.

Hatch intends to pay off his bills.

Since its first year, the Georgia Lottery Corp. has returned more than $14.8 billion to the state of Georgia for education. All Georgia Lottery profits go to pay for specific educational programs, including Georgia’s HOPE Scholarship Program and Georgia’s Pre-K Program. More than 1.6 million students have received HOPE, and more than 1.3 million 4-year-olds have attended the statewide, voluntary prekindergarten program.
