A Cartersville man was jailed on murder charges for an event that reportedly occurred almost a year ago. A Bartow County Sheriff’s Office report states that 51-year-old Brian Todd Barron was booked into the Bartow County Jail June 19, 2026, on one charge of felony murder. According to the warrant, on July 30, 2025, Barron knowingly and intentionally drove up to the alleged victim while he was standing on the shoulder of the road way. Barron reportedly began shooting at the victim multiple time with one of the rounds striking the victim’s abdomen. The victim was admitted to the hospital and following multiple surgeries died from his injures on November 3, 2025.
