Steven Bill Franklin

Bartow County deputies were dispatched to a residence on Amberidge Drive in Cartersville at around 12:24 Saturday morning in reference to a physical domestic incident in progress. Dispatch advised that the male involved left on foot shirtless covered in blood.

A woman said she was standing in the bedroom when her husband Steven Franklin punched a hole through the bedroom door, causing his right hand to bleed. She said Franklin caused damage in the bedroom, threw her on the floor, and choked her before her son entered the room and staring hitting Franklin in the head several times to get him off of her. She said Franklin then fled. She had red marks on both her arms and around her neck.

The son, whose right hand was red, corroborated the story.

Deputies observed blood on the front door steps, a hole in the bedroom door, drawers pulled out, furniture knocked over, and blood on the floor all around the bedroom.

At 1:17 am, dispatch advised that Franklin entered the residence through the back door and began acting violent.

Deputies asked Franklin to put his hands behind his back. While lying on a couch, deputies managed to get him on the ground. However, Franklin resisted violently. After several attempts to get him on his stomach, a deputy utilized his Taser and dry stunned him in his side twice. Franklin still didn’t comply with commands, but he was eventually flipped on his stomach and handcuffed.
