The Cartersville Purple Hurricanes (7-0, 3-0) defeated the Blessed Trinity Titans on Friday night by a score of 49-21.

Cartersville got out to a running start and didn’t let up in the first half. QB Jake Parker connected with Kendric Price for a 22-yard touchdown pass on Cartersville’s opening drive. Following a Blessed Trinity three-and-out, RB Malachi Jeffries scored on a 3-yard rush to give the Canes a 14-0 lead in the first quarter.

Just a few plays into the second quarter, Cartersville found the end zone again as RB Amari White scored on an impressive 26-yard run to give the Canes a three-touchdown lead. Parker would connect with White for Cartersville’s fourth touchdown of the half on a 32-yard screen pass to put Cartersville up 28-0.

Blessed Trinity found the end zone with just four minutes left in the first half when star RB Justice Haynes scored on a 73-yard run.

But Cartersville would get the last laugh as Brynen Wilkins scored on a 32-yard touchdown and a 35-7 halftime lead.

Haynes would score on a 20-yard run for Blessed Trinity, while Cartersville added a 9-yard touchdown run by QB Paul Gamble as the two teams traded scores in the third quarter.

Blessed Trinity would add a score early in the fourth quarter, but by that point the damage had been done. White added a late touchdown run for Cartersville to put an exclamation point on the win.
