On Thursday, March 14th, the Cartersville Police Department received a report of a possible inappropriate relationship between a Cartersville High School teacher and a student.
On Tuesday, April 2nd, 53-year-old John Paul Snead of Kennesaw was taken into custody by Cartersville Police Department investigators. They have charged Snead with sexual assault by a person with supervisory or disciplinary authority and sexual battery. Snead was lodged at the Bartow County Jail pending a bond hearing.
Cartersville High School officials say they were alerted to potentially inappropriate communication between a teacher and a student on March 14th. They say that school officials acted immediately and by the appropriate situational protocols. The teacher is no longer a Cartersville City Schools employee.
