CARTERSVILLE, GA — On the morning of Tuesday, July 29, 2025, at approximately 9:44 a.m., the Cartersville Fire Department was dispatched to a reported residential structure fire located at 105 Thornwood Drive. Crews from both the Cartersville Fire Department and Bartow County Emergency Services promptly responded to the call.

Cartersville Engine 2 arrived on the scene in under five minutes and initiated operations. Supported by additional units from Cartersville and Bartow County, firefighters conducted an aggressive interior attack and a primary search of the residence.

During the search, firefighters safely located and rescued one of the two family cats from inside the home. Fortunately, no injuries were reported to either civilians or responding personnel.

The cause of the fire remains undetermined and is currently under investigation by the Cartersville Fire Marshal’s Division. Additional details will be released upon the conclusion of the investigation.
