The Cartersville Purple Hurricanes (9-1, 4-1) defeated the Dalton Catamounts (5-5, 3-2) by a score of 39-14.

Cartersville dominated the game and took an early 3-0 lead off the right leg of Ryan Johnson in the first quarter and never looked back. Dalton fumbled on the following possession and the Canes offense capitalized.

Malachi Jeffries scored a touchdown, while Collin Fletcher scored the 2-point conversion. Khristian Lando added a second quarter touchdown to give Cartersville an 18-0 lead. Dalton scored and converted a 2-point conversion of its own following a Cartersville penalty, but were unable to score again late in the second quarter.

The third quarter got off to a rocky start for Cartersville. The Canes fumbled the ball and Dalton was able to answer with a touchdown to cut into the Cartersville lead 18-14. That was as close as the Catamounts would get in the game.

Paul Gamble scored on a 63-yard touchdown run, while Jeffries and Lando added one touchdown each to successfully put the game away for Cartersville.
