On a crisp Friday night under the lights, the Cartersville Purple Hurricanes (6-0) showcased their dominance, overpowering the Woodland Wildcats (0-4) in a 44-7 blowout that highlighted their offensive firepower and defensive tenacity.

The Canes wasted no time asserting control, striking first with a touchdown to take an early 7-0 lead in the opening minutes of the first quarter. The momentum continued to build as Tyon Coe broke free for a 22-yard touchdown run, pushing the lead to 14-0 with just under six minutes left in the quarter. Cartersville’s defense then made its presence felt, forcing a safety to further extend the lead. On the ensuing kickoff, Maddox Davis electrified the crowd, sprinting 70 yards for a touchdown return, ballooning the score to 23-0 before the first quarter closed. The onslaught continued as quarterback Nate Russell connected with Braylon Hill on a 55-yard screen pass for another touchdown, giving the Hurricanes a commanding 30-0 lead with 1:06 remaining in the first quarter.

Cartersville’s relentless attack showed no signs of slowing in the second quarter, as Tripp Chatman powered in from four yards out to make it 37-0. Just before halftime, PJ Richards added another score, sending the Hurricanes into the locker room with a 44-0 advantage.

The Woodland Wildcats, struggling to find their footing, finally broke through in the third quarter when Solomon James found the end zone, cutting the deficit to 44-7. Despite the effort, Woodland couldn’t muster any further offense against Cartersville’s stifling defense. The fourth quarter saw no additional scoring, with the Hurricanes content to manage the clock and secure the victory.
