The Cartersville Purple Hurricanes (6-0) dominated the Woodland Wildcats (1-3) with a 55-7 victory on Friday night.

Cartersville struck early, opening the scoring with a Nate Russell touchdown pass to Brady Marchese. On the next drive, Russell added a short rushing touchdown. Baylon Long and Jacaiden Leonard followed with rushing touchdowns of their own, pushing Cartersville to a swift 26-0 lead.

Late in the second quarter, Cartersville’s defense secured a safety after tackling Woodland in the end zone. Andrew Purdy capitalized on the next drive with the Hurricanes’ fourth rushing touchdown.

Woodland’s Isaiah Livsey managed to score with just over a minute remaining in the first half, cutting the deficit to 35-7, but the game was already out of reach.

In the second half, Harris Turner sealed the victory for Cartersville, tossing touchdown passes to Jackson Montgomery, Kaiden Kent, and Cooper Melvin to complete the 55-7 rout.

Cartersville will rest during a bye next week before preparing for the Cass Colonels on October 4. Woodland will face Cass next Friday night at 7:30, with the game available to stream on Bartow Sports Zone.
