The Cartersville City Council approved four text amendments to the alcohol ordinance during a business meeting at City Hall Thursday night.
They established a Downtown Entertainment Zone, which allows individuals to consume alcoholic beverages outdoors within the boundaries delineated on the map above.
The council also approved numerous rules and regulations. Amongst them are hours of consumption. The hours on Thursday and Friday are between 5:00 p.m. and 10:00 p.m. The hours on Saturday are between 11:00 a.m. and 10:00 p.m. Hours on any parade dates or other dates passed by the council by a resolution are excluded.
This ordinance will be in effect beginning February 11th.
The council also changed the time package outlets can sell alcohol to match consumption times and adopted state regulations concerning home delivery of alcohol.
