The Cartersville Purple Hurricanes (7-1, 3-0) defeated the Woodland Wildcats (3-3, 0-3) on Friday night by a score of 47-0.

Cartersville had a 14-0 lead after one quarter and held a 35-0 lead at the half.

Sam Phillips had 100 receiving yards in the first half and a touchdown. Amarai Orr had a 45-yard pick-six and a touchdown reception with time expiring in the second quarter. Quante Jennings had two, rushing scores for the Canes. Malachi Jeffries had a 34-yard touchdown run in the fourth quarter.

Cartersville will play Calhoun next Friday night at 7:30 while Woodland will look to get its first region win of the year against Hiram, with playoff implications in both games.
